It’s Tuesday night and I’m exhausted at the end of a long and dizzyingly busy day.
My father and his wife are back together under the same roof. Gidget McFidget and I are staying with a friend of the family. My husband and Bruce are still in Michigan, and I miss them dearly.
I’m in bed after a long hot shower, half of a small veggie pizza, and a bag of peanut M&M’s. I’m going to post a separate note about the luxurious shower and why I should never be trusted to behave like an adult when nice things are involved.
Things to be grateful for today:
Sudden downpours while the sun is still shining
Fat raindrops that look like diamonds in the sun
Birds singing with excitement after the rain subsides
Barn cats
Ripe summer tomatoes fresh from the vine
Ditto fresh cucumbers
Mashed potatoes (real ones, not from a box)
Loved ones both far away and nearby
The beauty of another day alive and with the ones we love
