Today is a stressful day for many Americans, for a variety of reasons. I’m not here for political pontification. I will leave that to the pundits who specialize in such matters.
Today, I offer you a virtual palate cleanser to help reset our collective nervous systems to a calmer state of being.
Behold! A veritable parade of floral delight from our garden. All thanks to my husband, whose green thumb keeps me supplied with all the flowers I could ever want.
I adore the cheerful face of a sunflower greeting the morning light!
I think this collection of Black-eyed Susans looks like a cluster of minions gathered at the feet of the sunflowers.
Have you ever seen the flower on an eggplant before? Or the plant as it grows?
Check out the blossoms from a zucchini plant and a cucumber plant!
Beauty is all around us. Don’t you already feel better just from looking at the simple beauty of nature?
My challenge to you today - go outside and count ten things - one for each finger on both hands. Count ten beautiful things - flowers, birds, clouds, trees. You might find beauty in the oil sheen floating on a puddle in the parking lot.
Beauty is everywhere, and there is more beauty surrounding us that we acknowledge. Beauty is our common ground. The same sun shines on each of us equally. Take that light and use it to drive out the darkness of fear and division.
Now go count those ten things and report back what you find!
