Poem #9 for National Poetry Month
"Burned at the stake with a pharmaceutical flame" So powerful Dawn. I will always remember this.
A bit like chemical castration I suppose.
This is great! Visceral imagery! I’m doing a similar project for National Poetry Month.
Thank you! I would love to check out your project. Could you drop a link below?
Sure thing! I’m posting one poem each weekday through April here: https://open.substack.com/pub/bluecollarfugue
This is a powerful lament. So much imagery and the flow really works. 👏🏻
Thank you!
Very beautiful!
You are well educated and talented indeed ... but Lilith is spelled this way. I believe
Thank you. I'm aware of the "biblical" spelling of the name. I wanted to distance this from that.
I understand, but it is also the way it has always been spelled in literature and everyone will react as I did
This poem is over 20 years old and you're the first person to mention it. Anyway, I'm claiming poetic license and moving on.
I freely admit to being a dinosaur, but I am not the last of my breed
