Dear Dawn, thank you for sharing the things almost no-one talks about. It’s like returning from a marathon and knowing that you have to go on a marathon again tomorrow and the day after tomorrow and so on. Most important : you have to go through it, because there is a life at stake that means a lot to you.
It seems to be impossible but you, Dawn, can do it. Thanks to substack I learned about your burden and can share a little bit. You are not alone! Keep going!
BIG HUGS. I hear you Dawn. The 'phase' of caregiving you're in is the toughest in my view - hospice to last days. The worst of worst was 6-8 months for us, but the whole of 2019 was an accelerated decline. So I feel for you with deep empathy.
I'm sure that massage will be the best one you've ever had. I curated similar 'events' to keep me going.
Wishing you deep restorative sleep and happy reunion with your husband today. xo
Hey! Your post caught my eye on my homepage and I just wanted to send some support your way. Whenever you have a moment I’d be grateful if you could check out my latest newsletter. I’m always happy to support and lift each other up!
I’m relieved that you’re going home on Thursday. I’m tired right along with you knowing what you’re going through, via my own long years as a 24/7 caregiver. Decompressing at a spa sounds heavenly. I’m hoping you are able to get a good long break and lots of pampering. Gidget will be glad to get back to harassing Bruce Wayne. You are an inspiration Dawn. ❤️
Gidget was happier to see Bruce than I was to see my husband. She immediately bit him on the face. Then they both had the zoomies and challenged the dogs in the full-length mirror to a fight.
She is the only one who drives it anymore. His vision has declined to the point that he can't see the TV very well. They both have mobility scooters and either one can drive up the ramp into the van and then climb into the driver's seat.

Thank you. We're all together again. I think Gidget was happier to see Bruce than I was to see my husband. She immediately bit him on the face.

🤣🤣🤣. What? You and your hubby don’t get the zoomies? I guess that’s puppy love, biting him in the face. 😂😂 they crack me up,
They are funny together. She bit my dad's dog, Belle, on the face and she just whimpered and ran away. Gidget prefers someone who will put up a fight.
Just wondering Dawn, dioes your dad’s wife drive the “Handicrapper” van?
She is the only one who drives it anymore. His vision has declined to the point that he can't see the TV very well. They both have mobility scooters and either one can drive up the ramp into the van and then climb into the driver's seat.
At least one can drive if they need to get out of there. I just love his name for the van.
My hat is off to you Dawn. Sending you positive thoughts for your caregiving journey.
It difficult, but it has to be done. Any nobody else is going to do it.
Oh dear Dawn
You’re a warrior
So you’ll see your husband today and once it’s Wednesday it’s easy sailing for a break to the home place
I hope step mom will be better Able to care for your Dad and herself too
That should give your father some extra peace
I hope your body holds itself up to give your kind soul and loving heart some support
You have much on you 😔
Hoping peace and relief come over you as you deserve this
Hugs and love to you ❤️
One day at a time Dawn
Thank you. I'm hoping to be able to sleep hard tonight and get back at it tomorrow.
Hoping your night went well
Don’t worry about all the news of the USA
It’s all bad
Just keep the humans alive
Home on Thursday
Then good rest
Leave it to God
Xoxo to you
