Oh, woof! Get over that kennel cough and feel better! I haven't counted, but since I started writing serious about for years ago I've mostly been creating, taking online classes, and participating in a writing group or two. Last year I made myself submit something every month, which I didn't quote manage, and I think one piece was accepted! I've probably submitted as much this year as I did last. Rejections so far, though I made it to the second round of NYC Midnight and I'm waiting to see if I make it to the third. I should count and celebrate when I receive 100 rejections! I'm overjoyed that you are doing what you're doing.
Not kennel cough, but close. Doctor says it's bronchitis and prescribed a steroid to use in my nebulizer. I'm glad you've begun to submit. That's the only way any of this works. Have you found Chill Subs here on Substack? They have great submission opportunities. DM me and I can send you the Google doc of places I have submitted in the past year.
I’m also sick right now. In hospital with influenza A and pneumonia. I believe a little the same about people not understanding Poetry. I’ve had many discussions about it. We should talk. Hang in there!
Oh no! So many people are sick right now! I hope you have a speedy recovery!
I saw my doctor this morning and he said I have bronchitis. Gave me a prescription for an inhaled steroid to use in my nebulizer. He didn't want to give me an oral steroid because my blood sugars have been running high. This business of living in a body and keeping all the moving parts running smoothly really is a full-time job.
The real story is you showing up to write even when you're sick as a dog. That's devotion. :)
Devotion or obsessive compulsion? The results are the same.

Yay you! So very true. Be careful or I'll start reciting Kioling's "If" at cha
Maybe she can spell Kipling better than I did!
You had me confused for a minute. Kipling. You know, I might be almost as good as my dog. She told me so.

I'd love to chat poetry with you sometime.
My daughter has asthma, influenza A, and bronchitis!
Yes we can meet online once we’re well.
Oh my goodness. She really needs to take care and get well soon. So do you!
