The only allergies I have are normal allergies with tearing, runny nose, coughing, etc due to pollen, grass, weeds, etc! And bee stings! Once, my knee swelled! I don't think I have other allergies! But I'm not allergic to cats!

Every year I get the eye, nose and throat reactions to pollen, usually spring and fall. But this was something totally different. It came on so fast. I wish I wasn't allergic to cats, but if I'm even in a house with a cat, I begin to get itchy eyes and nose. Same with rabbits.

Maybe something in the popcorn? Peanut oil? Some additive? Cat fur on the seat from some other occupant of the pod? Not fun!

I don't know. I've never had a sudden reaction for no reason like that. But it began to go away as soon as we left the theatre. My eye was still a little swollen the next morning, but nothing major.

Stay out of the pod next time, and have candy!

Scary! Glad it dissipated quickly.

Yikes, Dawn! You are lucky. A coworker's 22-year-old son passed away from a peanut allergy after eating a late-night snack. Glad you're okay. Having autoimmune issues, I totally understand the self-triage you did.

OH, I'm so sorry to hear about her son. That's so young.

I've never had a reaction like this before excepting from being in physical contact with cats. Seasonal allergies can do a number on me as well, but nothing like this. It came on so fast then cleared up almost as quickly. I wonder if there might be mold or something in the theatre? Or someone with many cats sat in the seat before me?

You might be onto something with the mold or the previous guest possibly having cats.
