Oh my goodness. I am sitting in front of the laptop tearing up. I felt like you painted the picture in such a way that even though I wasn't there, I feel like I was. Thank you for letting me share this intimate experience. Whilst as a transplant recipient, you were most certainly a beneficiary. However, I think that you were also able to prolong Roy's life in a way that gave greater peace to his family :) Sending you lots of hugs x

Thank you, Teresa. It was a very moving experience. The unexpected coincidence of our being in the same place at the same time seemed to mute the emotion at the time, but later the full weight of the meeting hit me after they left my hospital room.

I feel like that wasn’t a coincidence and Roy may have actually helped the stars to align for you all ⭐

Beautiful, painful - life is so fragile. Thank you for sharing. I am an organ donor, but doubtful post-chemo I will be able to donate. 😢

Thank you for registering to be a donor. Even if they don't use your organs, you can still be a bone and tissue donor. That's lifesaving for people who need skin grafts.

Thank you so much for sharing. We received a letter from the first recipient of one of my brother’s organs this week. It was hard and beautiful at the same time. Your story helped me so much. I loved it. Thank you, thank you.

Thank you for choosing donation. Rest easy knowing that someone, somewhere, is living a better quality of life because of your decision.

You’re such a beautiful soul Dawn. I’m proud to call you my friend and am so grateful to your donors. And now you’re a published writer! My sister Patty died at age 45 because she couldn’t get a liver in time. It almost killed me. She was my person. She was a mother and a nurse. That was in 2006. My entire family are organ donors.

I'm so sorry. That's heartbreaking. I've known so many who didn't get their organ in time. It's a deeply flawed system that I hope will improve with the latest reorganization.

What a tear jerker of an experience.

We can consent to organ donation now with every new driving licence and car tax renewal so I announced it to my partner that that’s what I’ve signed up for each time and recently made sure it was set to donate all.

Miraculous to witness this aft saving someone’s life.
