Ah, it does matter, if only to a few and if only to you. But your audience is wider than you know. Phil Ochs, poor, doomed Phil Ochs said "Ah, but in such an ugly time, the true protest is beauty."
I shared your page with a poetry study group I'm in. Today we are discussing A Litany for Survival by Audre Lorde. When I saw this post I knew it would be a good fit.
I just scheduled several poems to post over the coming week, all of which are survival poems.
Since this is National Poetry Month, and I'm going to traveling back and forth to Tennessee for much of the month, I thought it might be a good idea to set up my posts for the rest of the month with some of my poems. Oddly enough, many of them deal with the theme of survival.
Reminds me of my favorite album title of all time, John Cougar (Mellencamp) Nothin' matters and What if it did. The deepest parts is where I want to swim
I'm still struggling with discernment. Some days I want to give in to nihilism and think nothing matters, and others I think every dust mote in a sunbeam has meaning. Somewhere in between I should find the balance that allows me to remove those dust motes from the living room furniture.
Attempt to make me whole.
You touch my heart with this powerful poem.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Schrodinger's cat approves of this message.
Meow!
This had perfect timing
Thank you. I hope you found it helpful.
Very much
Poetry isn't really my thing, but I really love this one! Definitely resonates and so powerful!
And the science nerd (and Big Bang Theory nerd) in me really loves the Schrodinger reference, hehe.
Oh, I've got nerdiness to spare. Did you catch the Dune reference? I edited out my Star Wars paragraph because it was getting to be too much.
Haha, I did catch the Dune reference, but not as up on my Dune nerdiness. Star Wars would have totally gotten me :)
This group is reading 10 poems in 10 days. All about resistance and survival. Yesterday's was Won't you celebrate with me by Lucille Clifton
Oh, I love Lucille Clifton!

Yes, at least it matters on days that Schrodinger's Editor is favorably disposed.

Oh wow, I'm flattered.
